The Obama Campaign teams up with Fashions Heavy Hitters with the “Runway to Win” Collection

A number of the fashion industries top designers have teamed up with the president’s reelection campaign on a project called “Runway to Win.” The project features a small collection of items with proceeds from the items sold going to the Obama for America campaign. Some of the designers involved include the fashion world’s most influential designers.

The collection contains eighteen separate items including tees designed by Prabal, Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs, tote bags designed by Derek Lam and Tory Burch, a scarf by Thakoon. Other fun items like a red, white and blue nail polish set with a matching make-up bag. etc. The inspiration for the collection came from fashion industry insiders who are dedicated to the president’s re-election.

Time magazine criticized the president for campaigning on income equality while asking his supporters to fork over $95 for a scarf. Vogue magazine Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour has already raised more than half a million dollars for Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign.
